If you are an artist...or an aspiring artist...wanting to learn how to paint with acrylics,
this day in my studio is designed just for you!
You'll learn new techniques, rejuvenate your creative spirit and have lots of creative FUN.

I'll provide all supplies.

I'll share acrylic paint, paper, brushes & easy ways of getting realistic effects with acrylic paint.
(If you want to paint abstracts, these techniques will also work.)
If you've been working with pencil or other drawing media and want to learn to paint, this is the class.

Watercolor & oil painters, you can easily transfer transfer your skill & techniques to acrylic.
You'll learn how in this one-day class. You can try acrylics without buying more supplies.

And even if you've never painted before, this class will ease you into the painting process.

You'll learn my easy ways to

transfer your drawing to your painting surface, whether paper or canvas.

suggest foilage, sky & clouds easily & effortlessly

suggest figures, faces or buildings, even if you don't draw
(Of course, if you do draw, you can put more detail...but I am offering BEGIN NOW methods
...no need to spend years learning to draw before you can paint.)

You'll learn painting & blending techniques that work for realistic, impressionistic or abstract styles.

You'll learn to handle the paint to get the effects you want.
Choose a subject that inspires you.
I'll provide the help you want as you work on your painting.

If you want to paint portraits... I will not be addressing portraits.
But the techniques you will learn if you decide to take this class will help you
with painting ANY subject, including people, backgrounds & clothing.
*Sometimes we can't begin at the top.

I make everything as easy as possible, so that my students can begin as CLOSE to the TOP as POSSIBLE.

You'll learn how to paint foilage & even water.

You'll learn how to paint buildings...VERY SIMPLY.

I had a marvelous time creating this acrylic painting.

I have plenty of references for you to use. Or bring your own.
You'll learn to transfer a drawing or photo,

We'll focus on keeping it simple
and letting the paint work its magic.

You'll leave with your own masterpiece.

Each painting in this class will be different. You choose your subject...one that interests you.

Do you want to create a landscape painting of your own favorite spot.
You will have a 4 foot table to work on.

Plan to work small if you want to finish in 1 day. 11" x 14" is a good size.

If you are a beginning painter...
or you don't have any ideas...I'll help you.

Once you start, you'll get so involved that you'll be in creative flow.
If you need help, I'll be there to provide it for you,
WITHOUT painting on your painting.

And you'll create your own Masterpiece. And you'll have fun.

Step-by-step demonstration & explanation will get you started.

Then you'll paint, with lots of individual attention from me...IF you want it.

I'll share my wondrous, light-filled studio, the music that inspires me, and my supplies.

I make this so simple that you'll have fun and you'll create a beautiful piece of art, even if you have never painted before.

Demonstrations & follow-along projects will be first, so if you can’t stay the entire day, you will still learn the process.

Bring lunch or a snack. I'll have cold bottled water for everyone.
Only $85. for the day, including access to my supplies.
I'll supply paper for you to paint on. If you prefer to paint on canvas, bring your own, or you can purchase one in the store when you arrive.
You may bring your favorite colors, palette & brushes. Or you can use mine.

If you have supplies you depend on, feel free to bring those. You don't need to buy anything. And you don't need to bring anything. I provide everything.
I provide a wide variety of acrylic colors & brushes. Acrylics are fast-drying, non-toxic & odor-free.
I think if you actually do what I show you how to do, you will remember it better. So if you want to paint clouds...or other kind of sky, or foilage, I'm happy to help you with the exercise.
If you prefer to skip the exercises and begin your painting, the choice is yours. I'll provide help as you want it during class.
