Perhaps you'd like to add meaning to your paintings with symbols.

Carl Jung said "The Soul speaks in images."

The unconscious symbols that appear spontaneously in your work speak volumes to others, (who recognize & understand symbols). And they may be trying to speak to you...if only you would listen.

In this class you will learn to become aware of these symbols and learn what they are trying to tell you.

Your art can be a powerful tool for personal growth, regardless of your skill level. This class is for anyone wanting deeper understanding of the artistic process. Guided meditation & discussion of universal symbols will begin our day.

You'll enjoy creative flow, beautiful light & inspiring music in my working artist studio as you discover & explore your personal symbols (with my help).

This class is for artists & aspiring artists at all levels of experience.

You do not need to bring any supplies, although if you have favorite colors or brushes that you want to bring, you are certainly welcome to bring them.

I'll share acrylic paint, paper, colored pencils, oil pastels, acrylics & mediums, various exotic papers for collage and hand-carved stamps to play with.

If you want to carve your own stamp, you can use my carving tools. I'll provide assistance. You might want to carve a stamp with your symbols.

Join me for a day of creative rejuvenation & exploration. I will provide lots of information and a guided meditation at the beginning of the class. I'll answer questions & provide help as needed during the day. You'll paint, experiment & learn.

You'll see with fresh eyes, create with new materials, and stretch your boundaries, in addition to discovering your personal symbols.

You'll be surprised at what you can do. And you'll have so much fun.

I design my classes to be fun and suitable and useful for both beginners and advanced artists.

Classes are fun to both because everyone is inspired to create with new ideas and new supplies.

Classes are useful to both because everyone will learn some new techniques and/or applications.

Each person works at her own speed, confident that she can get questions answered as they occur to her.

Classes are suitable for beginners because I demonstrate and explain simple steps.

Classes are suitable for more advanced painters

Because I share all of my supplies. Some may be new to you.
Because working in a new environment interrupts old patterns.
Because you will find your own way of interpreting what you learn.

After our initial exploration of symbols, you'll paint, with lots of individual attention from me...IF you want it.

I'll share my wondrous, light-filled studio, the music that inspires me, my supplies, and my stash of collage & paper treasures.

I make this so simple that you'll have fun and you'll create a beautiful piece of art, even if you have never painted before..

Bring a lunch.
Only $85. for the day, including access to my supplies.
I'll supply paper for you to paint on. If you prefer to paint on canvas, bring your own, or you can purchase one in the store when you arrive.
You may bring your favorite colors, palette & brushes. Or you can use mine.

If you prefer to paint with watercolor, bring yours & your brushes. If you decide to add collage, you can use my brushes & mediums. You won't need to use your good watercolor brushes in the acrylics. Contrary to popular belief, you CAN do collage on watercolors. I'll share the secrets for making it work.
If you have supplies you depend on, feel free to bring those. You don't need to buy anything. And you don't need to bring anything. I provide everything.
I provide a wide variety of acrylic colors & metallics.

I provide cold bottled water and a small refrigerator where you may place your lunch or snack if you choose to bring one.

Teachers may be able to receive CPE hours for class. Check with your supervisor.
