Create 3D Touchable Texture
Friday, September 9,   10  PM - 2:30 PM

Workshop: For all levels from beginner to advanced.

Instructor: ANN BELL                281-330-3827

Where: Ann’s Studio at 2711 Main St. in Midtown Houston

  • Small class…5 student maximum.

You'll be surprised at what you can do. And you'll have so much fun.

Texture adds excitement to a painting.

Whether you are an experienced painter or a beginner, you will have FUN and LEARN.
You'll leave with a bag of NEW tricks for your creative play.

I'll share my techniques, my supplies and my tools: You'll learn at least 6 techniques for creating texture using Golden acrylic mediums and tools you might even already have. I'll supply everything.

You'll

  • learn at least 6 techniques for dimensional texture
  • learn which medium works best for which technique and why
  • experiment with my tools
  • see the difference between applying texture first and applying it as you paint
  • establish mood with texture and color
  • create easy abstracts, even if you can't draw and have never painted before
  • feel like you're playing as you learn techniques you can repeat in your own work
  • be inspired to create your own personal variations on these techniques
  • receive written instructions, so you won't have to interrupt your flow with taking notes.

Step-by-step demonstration & explanation and hands-on exercises will get you started.

Then you'll paint on your own, using the texture techniques you've learned. I'll be there to give you as much help as you want and to answer questions.

I'll share my knowledge, my wondrous, light-filled studio, the music that inspires me, my supplies, and my tools.

I make this so simple that you will have boatloads of fun.

You can choose to create samples of the various techniques OR create a beautiful piece of art using as many or as few of the techniques as you like.

Demonstrations & follow-along exercises will be first, sothat you will actually work with EACH technique. If you can’t stay the entire day, you will still learn all of the techniques.

  • Only $85. for the class, including access to my supplies.
  • If you paint with acrylics, you can bring your favorite colors, palette & brushes.
  • Or you can simply use mine.
  • In either case, you may use any of my supplies that you want to use.
  • You don't need to buy anything before the class. Just register and come.

This class is helpful to all painters--from beginner to expert. BECAUSE:

    • I design my classes to be fun, suitable & useful for both beginners & advanced artists by
beginning with clear, simple demonstration, stimulating the imagination with examples,
inspiring everyone to work in new ways.

    • I provide individual help as each person wants it. Small class size allows this personal attention.

    • I provide all materials used in my classes, so everyone has access to the paints, mediums & all other supplies without needing to buy everything. This encourages experimentation with new supplies & new ways of working.

    • Playing with new materials, new ideas & new ways of working is a powerful stimulant for creativity.
