Collage is a versatile tool. Many
of my paintings contain collage elements.
Sometimes I cover my watercolor paper with various textures of paper and then paint a
watercolor on top of them.
My art cards are miniature collages.
I love collage! And you will love it too!
You'll be surprised how frequently collage will appear in
your work after this class.

In the example below, I painted the background using dark
acrylic. I created the bird by collaging various marbled papers
and rice papers onto the background. The heart and the red patterned elements are
also collage.
I added the red lines on the bird with a linear brush. Then I added red touches to
the background.
The title of this mixed media collage is "My Heart
Takes Flight."
Collage can be used for representational, impressionist or abstract work.
