 "Basking
in the Sunshine"

I observed this single water-lily basking in the sunlight
among the lilypads, while I was on a visit to Lilypons Water Gardens with my husband. I
was inspired to paint my impression of this peaceful blossom to share it with others.
The wonderful glow of the water comes from twenty glazes of
color. The sparkling white of the blossom is the pure paper which I carefully reserved
until the final stages of the painting, when I added the yellow center and the shadows of
the petals.
My husband tells me that this is his favorite painting.
The colors of my paintings are much more beautiful than these
internet images can show. I hope you enjoy the paintings.
